Ready for Fall

I am really getting into the Fall spirit even though it is still quite hot and humid here in Florida. I've been cooking my "cool weather" meals, making many of my favorite pumpkin baked goods ( I am addicted to all things pumpkin), and yesterday while I was shopping I found pretty ribbon with a leaf pattern and some flowers for $1 each, so I came home and rummaged through my stash and found some .. wire mesh (that I formed into a cone),used dryer sheets, plastic mesh ( like that which covers Spiral Hams, I really do keep EVERYTHING .. lol ) and some tassels. Here is the door hanger I made. When I finished it I realized that the cone part has the appropriate colors that I can also use it for Christmas by just changing the flowers and bow.

There is this wonderful poem entitled YOU by Edgar Guest that I gave my son many years ago. It has been hanging on the wall in his bedroom just printed on paper and I've been saying for the longest time that I wanted to dress it up a bit, so I finally decided to work on it and this is the result. I am pleased with it but I think I might have "femmed" it up to much for him to put in his room. I may have to do another one, I'll see what he thinks.

I printed the poem on velum and just pulled stuff from my stash.

I'm Seeing Red

Ok it's just a play on words, I'm not really angry it's just the primary color I used for this LO. I used the sketch from the Sept. 1st challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch This is my son Kyle, it has been a big year for him ( and Momma too ) he turned 18, graduated HS, and started college last month. He is growing up way to fast, and even though I am VERY proud of the young man he has grown to be, if there were a way to go back a few years, I might consider doing it .. lol ..

All papers and embellishments are from my stash. A mix of Basic Grey, Prima, Making Memories and misc others.

I altered this little notebook to help me organize, and remember, all the thoughts, plans and ideas I have for this new blog. I tend to jot down everything, ( hey I'm not getting any younger, things don't hang around in my brain like they used to .. ;) ..) So I think this notebook may turn out to be a little to small for the job, but I'll see how it goes. I just pulled scraps and odds and ends from my stash.

A Quick Project

I made this very simple quick card for a friend. I used BG papers from their Blush line ( I LOVE BG papers ) The stamps are from Stampin Up and Studio G. I really enjoy making cards, they are so quick to do you can get instant gratification.

A New Name, Look and Direction....

It's been a long time since I've been in blogdom, This is my second blogging venture, I guess you could say I outgrew my first blog. I want this one to have more of a purpose than the first one, so this time around I have a new path that I would like my blog to take. There are some plans for weekly posts that I will be sharing in the next few days! The new name was inspired by my "angel" mother and the direction this blog goes in will be inspired by the Lord....I hope if you stop by that you find something enjoyable or helpful here.
